The Project

In December 2020, the PMI Congo Chapter and Fonte di Speranza Onlus, under the supervision and support of PMI Educational Foundation and PMProgetti, decided to launch an educational project for the children of the school in Moba to address ‘the project management skills for life’… In fact, PMI is promoting the importance of Project Management skills as essential skills for every human being… As human beings we are destinated to do many projects in our life, and to succeed we must be well prepared and well equipped to transform a project into a success…

Under this ideas, volunteers of PMI, Fonte di Speranza and PMProgetti launched this educational project for the children of the school ‘Ecole Katarina Beni II’ in Moba. The project is divided into two parts:

  • the first part is called ‘the tower game’… children must build the tallest ‘tower’ with few simple items and tools… skills such as teamwork, planning, listening, trying and learning, trust, control, communications, risk management will be essential to succeed in this project

  • the second part aims to present, learn and apply the PMI guidelines to make a project… children will be asked to build with simple items some games in the playground of the school… skills such as brainstorming, planning, executing, controlling, communicating managing risks and learning will be vital to succeed in this project…

The entire team will work to make sure this project will be a success… Two volunteers will be phisically present in Moba to teach and coach the children and teachers to learn and apply the concepts of project management in real projects, another group of volunteers will support the project from Kinshasa, Nigeria and Europe.
